A lipid-based substance used to dilute essential oils. dōTERRA Fractionated Coconut Oil is an great carrier oil because of its long shelf-life and light, non-greasy texture.  It is a coconut oil that never hardens or solidifies.  Some other carrier oils can be olive oil, regular coconut oil and almond oil.
